  1. You're not a bad Muslima but you just need to know of the importance of those two acts.

As a Muslim, we should know that when Allah commands something and its meaning is clear, there is no chance that we reject it:

064.012 So obey Allah, and obey His Messenger: but if ye turn back, the duty of Our Messenger is but to proclaim (the Message) clearly and openly.

    Al-Qur'an, 064.012 (At-Taghabun [Mutual Disillusion, Haggling])

    Also:

033.036 It is not fitting for a Believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger to have any option about their decision: if any one disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he is indeed on a clearly wrong Path.

Al-Qur'an, 033.036 (Al-Ahzab [The Clans, the Coalition, the Combined Forces])

That is why, we need to follow the commands that God has ordained on us.

Prayer, as you probably know, is the second basic tenet (pillar) of Islam. God clearly commands Muslims to pray on specific times of the day:

004.103 When ye pass (Congregational) prayers, celebrate Allah's praises, standing, sitting down, or lying down on your sides; but when ye are free from danger, set up Regular Prayers: For such prayers are enjoined on believers at stated times.

    Al-Qur'an, 004.103 (An-Nisa [Women])

And God puts emphasis on the importance of prayer on many other verses of the Qur'an. Among those:

029.045 Recite what is sent of the Book by inspiration to thee, and establish regular Prayer: for Prayer restrains from shameful and unjust deeds; and remembrance of Allah is the greatest (thing in life) without doubt. And Allah knows the (deeds) that ye do.

    Al-Qur'an, 029.045 (Al-Ankaboot [The Spider])

As for the issue of Hijab, God commands women to wear modestly when going outside for their own benefits as well as other people's:

024.031 And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of s*x; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss.

    Al-Qur'an, 024.031 (An-Noor [The Light])

033.059 O Prophet! Tell thy wives and daughters, and the believing women, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad): that is most convenient, that they should be known  (as such) and not molested. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Al-Qur'an, 033.059 (Al-Ahzab [The Clans, the Coalition, the Combined Forces])

It is really great that you have decided to read the Qur'an this Ramadan. I hope that you will also start praying the 5 daily prayers regularly and dress the way Allah has ordered us to do.

May Allah guide us all to his path.

  2. no it is not ok sister, do your best to wear hijab and pray, the first thing you will be answerable upon death is the prayers, and Muhammad (saw) said:

"The covenant between us and them (unbelievers) is the prayer, so who has left it has disbelieved"

  3. it's ok not to wear the hijab but you should atleast try to learn to pray or else your not doing your duty as a muslim

  4. during praying you must cover your whole body including your head... it doesn't have to be the hijab it can also be a simple scarf...BUT YOU MUST AS A MUSLIM COVER YOUR WHOLE BODY wearing a hijab doesn't judge you as a good muslim it's your actions that show how religious you are. So you don't have to be a good or bad muslim to wear the hijab.. i don't wear hijab but i say prayer five times a day, avoid alcohol/gambling, and i fast during ramadan...

it is up to allah to judge you on qayamat remember one thing though allah loves human right more than faithful rights because if you forget to pay zakat one time or forget to pray a couple of times then allah can forgive you if you ask for forgiveness that is faithful rights..HUMAN RIGHTS- if you kill, rob or rape someone allah won't forgive you for that... because you don't have the right to do something like that... on qayamat you must ask forgiveness from that person when resurrection occurs

  5. The question is:

What are you doing as a Muslim?

If you don't wear the Hijab, pray, or fast, then you're not practicing. YOu're just labeled as a Muslim.

I'm not going to Judge you. It's all up to Allah.(most forgiving and most mercyful)

  6. Praying five 5 times a day is one of the duties of a muslim. Try to pray it will make you feel good.

Hijab is not a requirement. In Koran it says you should dress modestly and don't wear revealing clothes. Everyone has their own defination of modesty. Some believe women should be covered from head to toe while others say it is okay to dress like you do.

Go with your defination of modesty.

  7. Peace

What is a muslim?someone who submits their will to allah and if you dont pray, wear hijab etc then you are not a muslim. You are of no religion though you say there is 1 god and muhammad is the messenger.

Allah looks at what is in ur heart, but he also said the first thing you will be questioned on day of judgment will be prayer, and if u have gd heart, help people etc, then it will be fruitless as you didnt what god told u to do and that is to pray to him and believe in the Quran etc.

Inshallah u pray namaaz and Quran in ramadaan and even after.

You are not a muslim if u dont pray and do what allah tells u to do. many people in the world say they are muslim but do not even know the meaning of muslim.

Allah says in the Quran that he is not in need of ur fast. It is for u to stay away from temptations and be more thankful.

Allah says to cover the body and the hair, u can show face and hands, so if u dont do what he does u are not gud person let alone a gd person.

    Peace

  8. Then why do we have an outside/exterior?....Good deeds, intentions and also Good actions count as well.

  9. if u r not wearing hijab it is not a big problem but u should take care of ur clothes dont show alot of ur body

the big problem is that u don't pray u have to try u can start by praying once a day for a week then the other week u pray twice and isA in 5 weeks u'll successfully pray 5 times a day

  10. you have to pray, it is not a choice. prayer is one of the biggest things that seperate believers from kaffirs. start praying, the first thing you will be asked on the day of judgement is about your prayers. don't worry about what others do worry about your fate if you don't start praying. It takes 5 minutes to do one prayer, just 5 minutes...don't make it hard, its really not.

  11. Wearing the hijab is compulsory and praying is also compulsory x10.

If you dont pray, then whats the differance between you and a kaffir?

&What do you mean "allah doesnt look at whats on the outside, its whats on the inside and what you do in life not just by wearing the hijab or praying" ?????

So does that mean I can dress like a s**t but still be a good muslim "inside"? Of course Allah looks at the outside!!

Praying is not something "outside", it's from the inside..you pray from your heart.

  12. No it's haraam.  If you don't pray then you go to h**l fire and will be punished on the day of judgment as well as in this life.  Prayer is the path to Jinnah.  It's what seperates non Muslims from Muslims.  As Muslims we should believe in and practice the five pillars:

    Swam

    Zakat

    Hajj

    Salat

    Shadah

If you don't pray then you get bad points and are considered a non Muslim.  Also a woman's prayer isn't accepted if she doesn't cover her hair and body and feet.

  13. Salam Alaykom,Sis..

some wear hejab and commit sins that unveiled girls don't do,some pray and then commit things that our prayers prevent and shelter us from doing but.... why don't u be the good one? why don't u wear hejab and pray while ur acts tell u r a good Muslim in the same time?

there r also good sisters who wear hejab and pray while they have good intentions the same as u , who is better ? :-)

  14. The Hijab is your choice but a muslim should always wear the Hijab in public. And if your a muslim you have to pray five times a day. That's what allah wants us to do so we should do it.

Oh yeah and just in case you were wondering my avatar is fake I always wear a Hijab.

  15. One of the verses in the Qur'an protects a woman's fundamental rights. Aya 59 from Sura al-Ahzab reads:

O Prophet! Tell Thy wives And daughters, and the Believing women, that They should cast their Outer garments over Their Persons (when outside): That they should be known (As such) and not Molested.

The Qur'an lays down the principle of the law of modesty. In Surah 24: An-Nur: 30 and 31, modesty is enjoined both upon Muslim men and Muslim women 4:

Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for Greater purity for them: And God is Well-acquainted with all that they do. And say to the believing women That they should lower their gaze And guard their modesty: and they should not display beauty and ornaments expect what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that They must draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husband's sons, or their women, or their slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of s*x; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their ornaments.

View words of advice it does not matter really  if someone wears a hijab and you think they are a bad muslim they are answerable to ALLAH for their own deeds
