  1. I don't think they would. They're all there for the same purpose. And learning how to swim may save your life some day.

  2. WTF id kick the **** out of anyone for laughing at a beginner swimmer everyone learns sumtime so its better now then later, swimmings great and no one should miss out on it! if your taking classes then everyone there (hopefully) will be glad 2 help you get started. every swimmer knows, no matter how experienced, that it truly is hard especially for older people that havent gotten used to water before.

Im 15 also and whenever I see someoe at the pool that looks uncomfortable about going in I usually try to help em out which is what most people do but who really cares how old you are! I know sum pretty jerk *** kids that could care less!

Good luck dude and dont be afraid to get in and learn!!

  3. Not knowing how to swim and wanting to take lessons doesn't reflect your intelligence, or capabilities.  Just because you're learning later than most doesn't mean anything.  I'm 17 and a competitive swimmer, I'm not a beginner but there are a lot of people on my team who are more advanced.  They aren't my friends for my skills, it's personality.  Swimmers are generally welcoming people  don't be afraid to ask questions and talk to them.

  4. no its good to learn swimming it could save your life one day XD

  5. my dad learned how to swim at 37 i think..

  6. Absolutely!

Swimming is one thing that I adamantly believe every one should know.  Not only is it a skill which can provide countless hours of entertainment - it is a skill that could potentially save your life or the life of another.

There are tons of people who do not know how to swim... if others do make fun of you, try to laugh it off and tell them, yeah, I'm just a beginner - but I figure at my age I'll be swimming laps around you in no time :)

Honestly, I don't think people will laugh at you - they'll be proud of you for learning.

    Good luck!

  7. you gotta start somewhere.  the longer you wait, the harder it will get.

all you can do is ignore those who laugh.

or, you could try to find some private lessons.

  8. No they are pretty mature for the most part, and if anything Ive learned that swimmers are easy to get off your back as long as you aren't a complete turtle living in an anti social no confidence shell. Go for it, learning to swim is one of my best childhood memories, who cares what people say. Do you know how many people you pass everyday?

  9. Just don't care for what they are going to say it is never too late for anything.

  10. I began swimming at 13 and now compete in Division 1 in college.  Put in the extra effort - I swam 10 practices a week during the summer my first year and 8 during the school year.  Find a club program with reputable coaches that will give you the time and attention you need.  As long as you put in the effort you will do great!

  11. It Doesn't matter when you learn to swim.If you are really to embarrassed to try to learn how to swim try to take a private lesson or go in a pool when not that many people are in the pool.

You Have to start somewhere or your never going to learn.Knowing how to swim is also a great skill to have and a fun one too.
