Is it alright to feed my child a fruit only breakfast?

I dont believe in big traditional breakfasts I think light fruit breakfasts are very clensing in the morning, so I like to whip up a nice bowl of berries, or cut up some pineapple and mango. I want to give them at least 2 cups of fruit. The reason I am asking is because I am vegan and am pregnant and I dont want my child undernurished but a fruit breakfast cant be worse than bacon and eggs can it?

  1. The only problem is you'd be spiking your blood sugar. That is not healthy at any time esp. if you are pregnant!  I would try and balance it with some kind of protein. I would not  be a 100% vegan right now if I were you.

I wouldn't chance it because it really seems like you don't know what you are doing. I am not trying to be mean just to the point.

    Good luck with your baby!

  2. Sounds like it could be ok, but I would ask your doctor if I were you.

  3. that is a very healthy breakfast! i give my boys fruit for breakfast too

  4. Actually your supposed to take in the most cals in the morning then any other time. But do what you want.

  5. Fruit is good but you want the meal to be well balanced with some protein and maybe some grains as well.  Oatmeal is great for breakfast!  I'm not vegan so I don't know what good sources of protein outside of meat except for nuts or imitation egg whites or tofu, but try to incorporate some of that into the meals as well.

  6. That is too much sweet stuff, some fruit is Ok but feed him some grains too

  7. Fruit is very healthy, but you should consider adding a complex carb, like a little granola and some protein as well.
