Is it alright to hold my leopard gecko even if i got her today?

She is a Mack Snow and a young adult and very calm.I got her today.But i want her to get to know me and i was wanting to hold her but im not sure if it would be ok the first day.Oh and another question, what would be a good name for her?

Let her get used to her new home. Then try holding her.

I wouldnt hold her on the first day. I would wait like two days for her to get used to the new enviroment. Check what her diet is. See how much she will eat a day. And just let her be used to the new enviroment. Don't spray any perfume, hairspray, nail polish, nail polish remover, spray on deodorant or anything with fumes around her youdont want to poison her. Also if shes in a glass cage dont ever touch the glass if you have any of that stuff on your hands. Because it will go straight through the glass and kill her. Plus make sure she has a heating lamp. Some water. She needs bedding. And give her a hut. Maybe a coconut hut. To make her feel safe. She'll sleep under there ost of the time. But the need a place that the can hid in case they get scared.

i wouldnt hold her on the first day but i would try giving her food from your hand first that way they trust you and you should let her get used to her new home or she wont settle :)
