  1. It's not alright to give wrong information.  Background check will validate your information and false claim does not do justice on you.  Honesty is the best policy.

  2. A prospective employer has no right to ask you what your salary is at a current or past job. Furthermore, a prospective employer should have a fair idea of what you're making in your current position.

You should have a good idea what the new position pays and what you're worth. The interviewee should ask something along the lines of "what are you looking for in terms of compensation?" This then opens that discussion.

Salaries are assigned to various positions with a high and low end, though the span is usually not that great. How much you make in your current position has no bearing on the new one.

How much you get paid has a lot to do with benefits as well. To announce that you make $XX at your current job does not include any of those factors.

It's best to keep mum about current and previous salaries. Once you divulge that information, you've sealed your fate. You can be easily lowballed or inadvertently take yourself immediately out of the running. Talk only about what you need and expect and go from there.

  3. Absolutely.

Then, when they get information from your company, they'll find out you're a liar, and it reduces the candidates by one they will have to pick from. How nice of you to simplify things for them!

And a person who lies deserves not to get hired, so justice is served.

    Absolutely, go for it.

Famous last words: "They'll never find out." Ha!

  4. Check out this artice from CNN money I attached.

There's no reason to lie. Show your skills, get an offer, and if the offer is too low - tell them it's too low and move on.
