  1. D2 is a cheap and poorly absorbed D, and you are probably not getting much of it anyway.  Definitely take  your D3.  up to 2000 IU is recommended. As far as the flax oil.  The only reason you would need it with fish oil is if it has lignans in it, which is an option.  Lignans have hormonal and heart benefits.Omega 6 and 9 are plentiful ini the diet...it's omega 3 types EPA and DHA that are the most important, and that comes from fish.

  2. Yes, you can take the D3 in addition to the D2 in your other supplements.  Most Vitamin D researchers now recommend 1000 to 2000 IU of vitamin D supplementation per day, which is much higher than the current (and grossly inadequate) RDAs.  Recent medical studies indicate that doses as high as 10,000 IU per day for up to 6 months in healthy patients is safe.  So, 2000 IU per day is totally safe, if you are healthy.

Flax seeds and flax seed oil cannot adequately replace fish oil sources of long-chain omega-3s.  However, flax has other potentially beneficial ingredients.  So, taking both flax (seeds or oils) and fish oils may be extra beneficial to your health.

    Best wishes and good luck.
