So im almost done my very first pack of birth control this month but for this whole month with the active pills me and my bf have been using condoms because we feel that having unprotected s*x on the pill could still be bad which is why we always use condoms. Is the pill ment for you to have unprotected s*x? or is it okay if we continue to use condoms when im on the pill?

  1. the pill just prevents chances of pregnancy - whether its unprotected or not (because the condom could always split). theres no harm in using a condom while on the pill because then the pill will just act as a back up measure, its good that you are using condoms aswell as the pill doesnt protect against STDs whereas condoms do. but im sure youve heard that a thousand times before!

  2. It's good that you are taking the precaution, and using both the pill and condoms.

Without using a condom, you could run the chance of getting an STD/STI (Sexually Transmitted Disease/Infection). I would suggest, if you are sexually active (and your partner has/hasn't been "tested") to always use a condom.

It doesn't hurt anything to use a condom and pill at the same time. Just a better chance of keeping yourself and your partner healthy.

    Hope I helped :D

  3. It depends what kind of pill you are taking.  If you are on the combined pill then yes, after the first full month of taking it, it is supposed to stop you getting pregnant. However it doesn't stop you from catching an STD so it is advisable to continue using condoms, unless both you and your partner have been checked out for STD's and can be trusted not to sleep with anyone else outside the relationship.

My advice would be to ask your doctor what kind of pill you are on and whether it is a contraceptive or just designed to help with your hormones / periods.

  4. The pill is meant for you to not need to use condoms anymore, it will protect you from getting pregnant according to the specifications of the pill (read the pill booklet). You can still use condoms if you want it is just making it double safe for you not to get pregnant. The pill wont protect you from contracting STD's though, so if you are unsure whether your partner is having s*x with other people then you might want to still use a condom to prevent yourself form gettting an STD, or your partner has had s*x with other people and hasn't been tested for STD's than you might want to get him tested or keep using a condom.

  5. if you use condoms with the pill, you are extremely safe. it is th ebest way to be nearly 100% safe. with pill only you are not 100% safe. People may get pregnant with just hte pill or just the ocndom. If you use them together you will be safe for sure.

  6. the pill is meant so you wont get pregnant you can take it and still wear a condom witch wiil protect you from std's and pregnancy if you are both tested and dont have anything it would be okay to not use a condom but depending on your birth control there is a chance you could still get pregnant but it is an extremely small chance good luck :   )
