This is the first time I'm going to Isle of Wight. Can you tell me whether one can make a day trip to this island, or a two-day trip is a minimum duration to appreciate everything there?

  1. Well, its a small island....but there is so much to see and do, you wouldn't fit it all into a month, let alone a day!!!

It is such a beautiful island...apart from all the usual visitor attractions, there are so many villages to visit too. Aside form this, its quite expensive to cross on the ferry ( assuming that you're going by car?) it would be such a waste just to go for one day!!

I live in Cyprus now, but have so many happy memories of holidays on The Isle Of Wight. You really should book a holiday there to appreciate such a lovely little island!!

  2. You can go for a day, but you will only see a small part of it. Go for longer.

  3. I have only stayed on the IOW for a holiday but I think with planning you could see quite a bit in a day just work out the places you want to visit the most....its a lovely place with loads to do ....you will love it !

  4. It's a small island, although you cannot see it all in one day. The ferry crossing is also very expensive given the short distance.

  5. yep but you will be back

  6. You an see all of Guernsey in under a week; and all of Jersey in just a week.

Since the IoW is considerably larger than those two, I don't think one day will do the trick....

  7. It is possible to go to the IoW for one day but there is so much to see that is interesting that you really need at least 3 days. I recently went for a day, catching the earliest ferry and returning on the last but you can only scratch the surface of ther lovely island in one day.  It would make the ferry fare more worthwhile if you went for 2/3 days and stayed in a B and B.
