  1. some clothing is supposed to be washed in cold, but you can do all your laundry in cold water.  Things with colors that bleed are supposed to be washed in cold, while whites and solids usually like the warm water because it gets them cleaner without fading.  Your whites/solids will last longer in warm/hot water, but you could technically wash anything in the cold cycle I think. unless it's shrinkable!

  2. Yes. I was taught to read the labels. Sort by color and fabric. Wash whites in hot. Delicates in cold with Woolite of course. I also told to wash my jeans inside out to prevent fading. I hope this helps I have a family of six and our clothes haven't shrunk yet. Also to prevent shrinkage dont dry on super hot or for long periods of time. Good luck!

  3. If you are using washing powder that kills bacteria and other bugs then its fine... and for the answer above I never hurd of cloths shrinking in cold water...?!?

  4. nO! if they're cotton they'll shrink by at least 50%.. unless thats wat you want:)

  5. For sure.  Buy a powder for cold water - you may have to dissolve it in a little hot water first but most of the cold water powders don't even need this.  And your clothes will not shrink - I have washed in cold water only for years and never has anything shrunk.  Hot water, however, can shrink your clothes.  The people saying your clothes will shrink must still let their mum do their washing..

  6. not unless the washing procedure calls for it! NO THEY WILL SHRINK!!!

  7. It depends on what kind of clothes your washing

  8. yep, I wash everything on cold to save energy so my hot water heater isn't always running.  As long as you don't throw them in a dryer afterwards, they won't shrink
