Its nice...but some aren't worthy.  I see the word "deserve" being thrown around quite loosely in some of the answers.  I have a word that will do everyone a world of good....EARN.

If you know her and like her, yes. Common courtesy is ok for someone you don't know. You can be nice but not really respect them.

hmmm i think no....when the person who is front of you no matter who they are,  male or female ..........is really he/she capable of our respect?

Yes, but it's nt only women that should be respected. Everyone should be...mothers, fathers, enfants, adolescents, eldery, disabled..etc..There's not much reason not to respect some one?Is there?...I know under some circumstances it is impossible to respect someone when they have done something awful to you, or somebosy you care about..

I don't think that the respect should end there though...I think everything around us should be respected...animals, trees, cars, houses, the environment, other peoples possesions..Our respect needs to be trnsfer to every aspect of our lives (:

Its nice to respect anyone, unless they do something to lose that respect, or if they show disrespect to you in the first place.

It's always nice to respect everyone. Everyone deserves to be respected, not just women. Even if the person has done something mean to you, they're still human and deserve respect (and depending on the situation a little payback) :)
