Is it an advantage or disadvantage that the Democrats have the first convention?

Disadvantage. Look what happened when Obama appeared first on Warren's conservative forum, McCain knew about all the questions and he got a lot of time to prepare for those questions. Most Stupid people care more about other things than the real issues. Democrats just gave Republicans a chance to convert those stupid people.

It really does not matter who goes first.  Anyways, who gives a flying "F" what the Republicans have to say.  Everybody is  sick of them.

When conventions mattered, it was probably a disadvantage.

This is the first time in my life time that the conventions hold no surprises or great interest for anyone other than politicians.

It will be a great week of wine, women and song at expensive hotels and large expense reports for all the politicians. Paid for, directly or indirectly by simple tax payers.

It is a disadvantage for the Democrats. They will only convince anybody who watches the DNC Prom to vote Republican. People do not generally like to hear endless anti-American diatribe and flowery rhetoric, but the Dems have historically failed to understand this simple fact.

Conventions don't matter...  They are a dog and pony show...  They won't change anyones mind on who they are going to vote for in the long run...

It is a big advantage for McCain to pick his running mate and have his convention after Obama. He can tailor his message and reduce the "bounce" that candidates usually get after their convention.

It is a disadvantage for Democrats to go first. The republicans have the ability to upstage what the Democrats do.

Does not matter either way. The debates are what matter now. All the rest of this stuff is media hype

It is a disadvantage because after the parade of loony tunes speakers the silent majority will wake up and flock to McCain.
