Question:

Is it an insult? Should I be insulted?

I have recently turned to Yahoo Answers as a form of entertainment at work, as our IT Dictator blocks just about everything else.

I've answered questions honestly, if not bluntly.

So then I ask for suggestions of fun ways I could get my self fired. Harmless.

Anyway, one person, whos screen name rhymes with troubles, said I "didn't seem to bright". Though, I think in truth she is just bitter because she disliked the way I answered her question about how to estimate how much wall paper she needed.

Should I take her criticism seriously? If so should I write her a 'Sorry' note? If not should I start a charity fund to help buy her a sense of humor?

Thank you for your time.

  1. her comment was uncalled for.

  2. You gotta let it go. I once asked a broad question about what would be the best way to drive from point A to point B during rush hour--I have 3 different routes that I could go. I did NOT put down exact addresses or even cross streets I just said 2 areas of town...well someone came back and went on and on about how I should learn to use Yahoo! Maps instead of posting personal information, plus went on to say that I was unintelligent for putting on the internet where I would be driving. This was crazy to me that she would act this way. I didn't give addresses, what my car looked like and for heaven's sake it was rush hour so it's not like I'd be the only one driving!

So to be honest, I'd let it go. People are rude and a lot of them do NOT understand the questions, and some are just plain mean, so let it go and give her a thumbs down!

  3. people post questions ASKING for answers... you are not going to like every answer you get to a question. what's the old expression..."if you cant take the heat, stay out of the kitchen" ?

Now unless you gave her a sarcastic answer, then you desrve your insult, and maybe YOU should stay out of the kitchen....

  4. You should take her seriously, you should write a note, and you should start a charity, that way when your boss walks by, you'll have something to do besides asking wasteful, needless questions online. Have a great day!

  5. she's probably some cranky old lady who got dumped by her boyfriend or if she's older than she's probably going through menopause.. dont sweat it... btw.. it was an insult.. probably cuz u were asking how to get fired :P lol.. maybe she didnt realize it was a joke...

  6. Buying too little wall paper can be a real pain!  That's why I don't even bother (white bare cold walls is the way to go).  If she is spending her time trying to make these calculations, she definitely does not have a job.

If she did have a job, she would be asking the same thing!  Which, were there any good suggestions?

Clearly, my work is keeping me very engaged at the moment!

  7. lol, yes, buy her a sense of humor.

  8. Hey! Aren't you supposed to be working mister!!!???

  9. Oh no, forget the charity fund.  People like her are too proud to accept charity anyway.

And don't bother writing a "sorry" note.  Just leave her to her own delusions of adequacy.

  10. She seems like a pud. Why did you want to get fired? Some folks are desperate about their jobs...maybe she is one of those. Have a nice day.

  11. Well, if you're being a jerk, you deserve to be treated like a jerk.

My advice: Just don't answer any of her questions anymore. You don't need to start a flame war on Yahoo! Answers.

  12. you're so snotty. in a funny way through :D

  13. Dude, it's yahoo answers,... let it go,... see my screen name, sometimes I answer sincerely, sometimes I bust these little kiddies balls or bubbles whichever they may have,...lol It's entertainment, noone said entertainment had to be wholesome or proper, it's definately not etiquettely correct!

    The Jerk

  14. I think you should completely ignore her.  Some people think it's cool to be mean to others.  I avoid those types of people.

  15. Charity fund...definitely.
