Is it an insult when a guy says i have pretty shorts??

i was at park playing basketball and this guy passed and said pretty shorts. for the record there was nothing feminine about my shorts.

did you hear him directly?  Maby he said YOUR pretty short, not saying anything about the actual shorts.  All I can say is that dude's a creep,  because just in passing saying you short or saying you have pretty shorts is a little odd.

I think it was beause most guys would have said something along the lines of "tight" or "kool" shorts.

maybe he was jelous or somethng. or maybe your shorts are shiny.

or maybe hes g*y with good taste or something

Haha-  i wasn't going to answer this one- but since Haloengel asked...

All i can say is it's hard to say what someone meant without understanding the context- Whatever you would know best if the guy was being sarcastic, sincere, whatever.  His comment albeit weird- isn't easy to interpret directly- it's not like he said-- hey let's go out... or whatever...

I'd just go with the advice of your name- whatever.  I'd just let it go- and what are the chances you run into him again- if you do then what he says next might just give you an idea- if some of the theories above are true.

i wouldn't want another guy saying anything of mine was pretty... but i think you'd know better than any of us.
