  1. yes, it is.

" كان النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم إذا أتى مريضا أو أتي به قال : أذهب البأس رب الناس ، اشف وأنت الشافي ، لا شفاء إلا شفاؤك ، شفاء لا يغادر سقما " متفق عليه

" كان ينفث في الرقيه " ابن ماجه

" كان إذا مرض أحد من أهله نفث عليه بالمعوذات " مسلم

    903. Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I said to Thabit (May Allah had Mercy upon him) Should I not perform Ruqyah (i.e., recite supplication or Quranic Ayat and blow) over you, such supplication as was practised by the Messenger of Allah (PBUH)?" He said: "Please do so." Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) supplicated: "Allahumma Rabban-nasi, mudh-hibal-ba'si, ishfi Antash-Shafi, la shafiya illa Anta, shifa'an la yughadiru saqaman [O Allah! the Rubb of mankind! Take away this disease and cure (him or her). You are the Curer. There is no cure except through You. Cure (him or her), a cure that leaves no disease]."

    [Al-Bukhari].

  2. Never heard of such. How can you take a surah out of your heart and blow it on someone.

    peace

EDIT: What about the hadith about not blowing on things. Maybe it was just food. OH.

"By Time, Indeed, mankind is in loss, Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience."

    Qur'an, Al-Asr 103

  3. I know what you mean, and i don't know weather it is an Islamic practice. I do know we practice that but I'm interested to know weather it is Islamic. My husband prays and blows to my tummy all the time :)

  4. As a matter of fact, its a very regular practice. I've also wondered about this. I THINK there might be one or some hadith about this. BUT I'm NOT sure!...Will have to check it out inshallah....
