Is it an offence to drive a lorry with broken rear light lens?

The bulbs are ok and it's only the indicator part that is damaged - a replacement lens is due within a day.

  1. Showing a white light at the rear is illegal - try & cover with something like amber cellophane.

    vehicle is unroadworthy and illegal

    if pulled by vosa they maywell issue a GV9  (prohibition notice)

  3. its ok to drive back to base if it has been defected and a new part orderd providing the light is still working

  4. If the broken lens leaves a white light showing at the rear, instead of amber or red, then yes... You could be pulled over and cited for defective equipment.

  6. According the the rules yes but if you are as stated driving back to the workplace then you should be okay but it will depend on the officer because the same is true here in the U.S..................................
