lately ive been getting really short breathes if im nervous about something. My doctor gave me asthma puffs to deal with the breathing. I usually worry about my health, i worry about things that arent even important, and it just feels as if i always think negative. Ive been like this all my life, but not so bad since about 6 months ago or more. I even get scared to visit my doctor about it because im scared pains i get in my body are worse than what they probably are... I'm 18, smoked for about 3 years, now only once in a while, drink sometimes, and did take drugs in my past for about a year, (stimulant drugs). Im not proud of my self that i did that so nobody here needs to tell me to stop doing all that stuff. Im young i learnt from my mistakes on my own... Any way sometimes when i breathe after i panic alot about something, i get heavy breathing and it feels as if i cant breathe out smoothly, i just kind of shake when i breathe. could it be anxiety...? thanks in advance

Don't be afraid to tell your doc about your feelings.  He's there to help you.  And you can be helped.

Go see your doc.  Don't suffer needlessly.

  3. These are the symptoms I get with my own anxiety attacks.

  4. It does sound like you are suffering from anxiety,

you should talk to your doctor about attending Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) as it is one of the most effective types of treatment for anxiety without medication

CBT works by helping you to identify any unhelpful and unrealistic beliefs and behavioural patterns you might have. Your therapist then shows you ways in which you can replace these beliefs with more realistic and balanced ones. This type of therapy does not concentrate on dealing with events from your past, but instead focuses on the difficulties that you are experiencing in the present. CBT teaches you new skills, and helps you to understand how to react more positively to situations which would usually cause you anxiety.

    Good luck :)
