I recently received a rejection letter from a company I interviewed with.

Would it be appropriate to contact the interviewer regarding my interviewing strengths and weaknesses? i.e. resume critique, ways to improve interviewing skills, etc

  1. You could attempt to contact them, but chances are they will not speak with you.  Even if you do get someone on the line, a true answer will probably not be given.  The standard, "We found someone with better qualifications" will be all you get out of them.

Shake it off and keep searching.  The right opportunity is out there!

  2. No, not a good idea, makes you look unprofessional and needy. If you require info on making a good impression in an interview you can find lots of info online. Usually in addition to your skills and experience, they want to know what you can bring to the company and they judge that based on what questions you ask about the company and how much you know about what the company does. Also appearance, as always, should be neat clean and professional.

  3. all thought it sounds like a great idea don't think you will get any response from this person. It doesn't hurt to ask. It's just a phone call.

Keep it brief and straight forward. who know they may just take the time to help you out.

Also ask someone who has done hiring in the past to take a look at you stuff and maybe ask if they would do a mock interview with you. That may help also.

    Good Luck!
