Question:

Is it appropriate to read those books at work?

The titles of the books are: "Nice girls don't get rich" and "Nice girls don't get the corner office"

I was wondering if those are appropriate to read at work during my breaks where my managers can see it, or should I just keep them at home

thanks

  1. Keep them at home.

  2. Are you wanting to tell your boss your are a naughty girl?

  3. Its your lunch break and unless its porno , seems work safe.

  4. Yeah that's one way to ruin your chances at any promotions

  5. read whatever you want. a good manager shouldn't feel offended, or threatened, but may even recognize the humor and think about where you should be headed in that company.

  6. You have the right to read whatever books you like on your breaks, but don't let the managers see the books.

  7. They're not p**n but if you're concerned about the titles, just put a book cover over them so no one can see what you're reading.  It's what I do with my Playgirls....

  8. Unless your reading material is actively and recognizably pornographic, you can read whatever you like on your breaks.

  9. Unless what you're reading is explicit you have the right to read whatever you wish, however it may not promote your best image. Maybe throw a cover on the book or choose something less money/work related.

  10. I think she's trying to tell someone in her office something. I wouldn't bring those books to work. I'd read them at home.

  11. I wouldn't bring them to the office, the manager might get twitchy!

  12. Thos particular books are about how to stop being a doormat in order to improve your finances and career.  They don't mean you should stop being nice or polite, just that you shouldn't let people walk over you.

So there is nothing wrong with the books, but the titles might be misleading to other people, leading them to assume you're studying how to be a backstabber so you can "cut in line" professionally.  So to avoid misunderstanding, it might be better to leave the book at home, or simply put a cover on it to hide the title.
