I want to wear a corset under my wedding gown, but I want to make sure it will fit under my gown when I go to get it measured for alterations. Is is appropriate to wear a s**y (but tasteful) corset to my fitting?

Seamstresses and bridal gown salespeople opinions would be great! Thanks!

  1. You need to. The seamstress will make alterations based on how the gown fits with them on.

  2. check out this site. they have an AMAZING collection of bridal lingerie:

    good luck and congrats!

  3. Just take it with you to the fitting, dont wear it there.  You will get the gowns all sweaty from wearing it under your clothes you are going to be wearing there.

They see that kind of thing all day long...nothing new at all.

  4. Speaking as a bride (albeit 13 years ago), I would say it would be totally appropriate and a very smart thing to do.  Wear your shoes, too, if you have them.  Wearing everything that you plan on wearing for your wedding day will give the bridal salon people (and you) the best measurements, etc. that they need in order to fit the dress to your figure.  No time to be bashful - wearing your corset is a brilliant plan.

  5. Absolutely! Remember your gorgeous gown needs to fit over the undergarments. Wear the corset you plan on using for your wedding day.

    Hope your fitting goes well!

  6. Yes.

  7. Of course you must wear your bridal lingerie. The seamstress would insist

  8. Yes, because you need to be fitted with what you will be wearing underneath the gown.
