I have just seen on the news a new idea on "art". In the Tate gallery, some bloke has "created" a piece or "art" in the form of a series of semi professional runners sprinting through the gallery every 30 seconds. Yes. Thats it.
Call me old plastic if you want, but I am sorry art lovers - THIS IS NOT ART.
Up on my high horse now over this. Ok, so it is so c**p that it has got another mention, so maybe through being c**p it does get the coverage it needs. But it so sad that what is seen as being art is so abused that anything can be put over as art.
Take modern art pictures that could have been splatted by some deranged 2 year old in a tantrum whilst being prodded with a sharp stick in a paint shop. Sorry people, but this is not art.
Pickled sheep are not art. If art is in the eye of the beholder - for God's sake open your eyes!
Ok, so the question is - is it art? However abusive to genuine art it may be, however abusive it may be to clear minded sane people - is it art?
