Is it bad flush toliet paper down the toliet?

They often don't flush it in Thailand, instead they throw it in the waste basket, because it sometimes clogs the pipes. I am not really sure why, because it doesn't clog pipes in the U.S.

The reason it is called 'toilet paper' is because it was made to be flushed down the toilet, so obviously no.

Lately I have noticed it when entering a chinese resturant, and use the ladies room. The small garbage bin near the toilet is filling up with just used toilet paper, mind you; it DID NOT show the gruesome of someone's No.2...

At some point, I did learn that some places where the pipes aren't for toilet paper, actually some people use up too much toilet paper, and that clogs the flushing, making it very difficult to pass through...

Theory, don't use too much toilet paper before flushing, because otherwise it won't go down properly.

Depends on what country you live in. In USA where they use large enough pipes it 's not a problem. It degrades very quickly.

However in countries like Mexico generally they put used toilet paper in a waste basket near the toilet. Sounds nasty to me.
