Is it bad for my nylon string guitar to keep in inside my 30 foot sailboat in the SF bay?

  1. The high humidity is bad for the wood,


  2. If you have two solar powered vents and a simple chemical dehumidifier (you can get one cheap at Walmart)  than the humidity in your cabin shouldn't be much higher than outside.  

  3. There's a lot of moisture in the boat so if wood or composite yes it will damage it>

  4. I keep my Taylor Classical Guitar on my 38 foot boat in Antigua and don't have a problem because I keep it in the case with a couple of BIG packages of dessicant and I also have a humidity meter in there just to keep track of what is going on.

  5. The high humidity in the marine environment will ruin your guitar. My friend had his guitar on his boat for a short period of time and the neck warped, the body started to de-laminate and sound quality went to h**l!
