Question:

Is it bad for the baby?

I took a pregnancy test yesterday morning and it showed up as Positive. I took one this morning and it showed up as Negative. I'm pretty sure i'm pregnant since there are way more false negatives than positives. I am not very far along if I am for sure pregnant. My question is, is there anything I should avoid doing that could hurt the baby, even at this early stage? Not including smoking, drinking, medication, etc. But physically. Thank you! :]

  1. You might be a little more tired and achy, but mostly you should be able to do your normal activities.  My only suggestion is to stay away from hot tubs/jacuzzis.

  2. no you should be fine just don't overdo it.

  3. I took 2 pregnancy tests and they all came out negative despite the fact that I was 6 weeks pregnant. Finally two weeks later on the 3rd test I got a positive, went to the doctors and was indeed 2 months pregnant!

Basically don't do anything overly stenuous, heavy lifting or any contact sports in which you might sustain serious injuries. Also do not do any inverted yoga position in which you head is below your hips for a long period of time.

Don't take aspirin, most doctors will ok tylenol tho. Also becareful with antacids that have calcium carbonate.

Do not eat fish high in mercury content.

  4. No heavy lifting.

Do not take hot baths, as the baby may over heat.

gentle regular exercise but dont over do it. keep your heart beat below 140, so walking is fine but dont run because if you are working too hard then blood gets diverted away from baby to your mussles.

Try not to become to stressed.

Be careful what you eat, avoid deli meats and things that may give you Listeria ( a type of food poisoning that can kill bubs). Id suggest googling food that is not good to eat when pregnant because there are lots.

When using harsh cleaning products such as oven cleaner check that it is safe to use when you are pregnant.

Drink plenty of water and eat a balanced diet and start taking folic acid supplements (helps babies brain and nervous system develop properly and reduces the chances of spina bifida)

Also you should go to the doctor and have a blood test done. that will tell you for sure if you are pregnant or not but you probably are as you are right - It is very hard to get a false positive but false negatives are common. It may just be that you are not far enough along to have alot of HCG in your urine. I got a false negative when I was first pregnant too.

    Good luck

  5. It's not good to eat a lot of seafood during pregnancy and lunch meat and hot dogs should be kept to a minimum.

Good luck! I think you probably are pregnant! Congrats!

  6. not really pregnancy is a blessing not a handicap! as always maintain proper posture to avoid back pain and use proper techniques for picking things up,,,thats about it..GOOD LUCK!

  7. I have a question about your test you took the 2nd time...I was told at a doctors office that i was pregnant but i did not believe it so a week later i took one. I took one that was one line your not pregnant and two lines you were. Well it showed one line. I happen to have 2 pregnancy test so my not pregnant friend took one, hers came out one line...but the weird thing is it was a different line, because i was so far along only the top line showed meaning i was pregnant. For my friend it was the bottom. So if your too far along it might now read it right.

Right now you should probably just eat a little better and not lift things tthat are too heavy. When you call your ob or mid wife to make a 8week apt ask them what they think. So many people will tell you 100 things not to eat but really just a few things really matter. Just listen to your ob or mid wife and you will be fine :)

As for after the baby i have a lttle advice too...A HUGE one...find a doctor for your child that will care for them! We had to switch our daughters and he messed up her belly so bad because he would not listen to what we had to say about her needs and for 5 months she had been in horrible pain! We didn't know what to do as 1st time parents so i wish someone would warned me what to look for. Also you will have a motherly instinc, go with your gut when you think something is wrong. Its never bad to ask questions it will only help. And probably the biggest thing...enjoy! Be lucky to have such a boudle of joy!

  8. i think you need to go 2 a doctor and get checked out if u think your pregnant or it could be stress

  9. If you are newly pregnant, there are no physical restraints. Your baby is still smaller than your ability to see right now. It would fit on the tip of a sharp needle. Teenie, teenie!  Eat lots of broccoli.
