  3. I find that if you moisturize often, it gets dry a lot faster which leads to putting even more on. But that's just my skin. I don't know if its necessarily bad for you or not.

  4. How often is too often? If you're talking about 5x a day then that might be too much.

It is very important to moisturize your face at least once a day.

I moisturize two times. In the morning and before going to bed.

  5. I do not think so.

  6. for some people that leads to drying of the skin if you over moisturize. for others it gets too oily. some peoples skin stays fine. it all depends.

  7. No not really but if it feels smooth already then dont over do it

  8. If you need to moisturise your face constantly with your currently moisturiser, the moisturiser is not ample enough for your skin.

Perhaps you like to look into a richer textured moisturiser?

I have not seen alot of such cases, only those with TRUE dry skin (not a spot of oil on their face) in colder climate will experience such condition, or those with severe eczema.

But if you're asking if over moisturising is excessive and bad for skin.

YES over moisturisation is bad for the skin.

    Why so.. explanation next....

The top layer of the skin sheds its it older dead cells daily. How?

Younger skin cells are produced in the lower layer, and then gradually move up towards the surface, replacing the top layer protection of the skin as dead skin cells. This builds up the dead skin cells layer and the older dead skin cells are gradually flake off, replaced by the newly created dead skin cells.

Moisturisers help to comfort the skin when it is truly dry. Dry skin can crack and feel irritated from the imbalance of moisture uopn the skin. But that is only for dry skin.

Oilier skin have their own natural moisturisers to keep it moist and supple. Hence do not need as much moisturisers and only need it on the drier parts of the face/body.

With excess moisturisers, the extra bits act as a glue to stick the older (supposed to be slough off) skin cells together with the newly old skin cells. This with the help of over moisturisation will build up a thicker layer of excess dead skin cells on the topical part of the skin. This thick layer will create an illusion of topical dryness, and will also more likely to clog pores causing break outs.

That is why skin scrubbing is required to sustain good skin texture and condition (excluding those with severe acne.). Scrubbing the skin with a polyethylene beads based facial cleanser for at least once a week, do help out in sloughing the dead skin cells away.
