Question:

Is it bad if I can only replace 2 tires right now?

My tires on my 2006 Honda Civic are really bad, but 2 are worse than the other 2. I have been calling around, and tires are expensive..the cheapest I found are $108 each. I can only afford 2 right now, and may be able to afford the other two within a month.

Will it be bad to drive around with such a difference in tires for a month?

  1. No, just make sure they are both on the same axle... if its rear-wheel-drive, I would put them on the back.. and on the front if its front wheel drive.

  2. always put the new tires on the front because the front tires steer the car and a blow out is better on the back wheel it wont cause a car to maybe flip over.........

  3. It wouldn't be bad to replace just two tires, as long as you install the new tires in the front... Most Hondas are front wheel, and the front tires are the ones that always waste the most.

  4. well listen i don't really know but tires are tires i don't see a difference. Just see if it fits in the wheel!

  5. It's not bad if you can only afford to replace 2 of the tires right now.  When you take it in, they can look at the tires and replace the worst ones first.

    Good luck!

  6. IT WILL BE OK, JUST MAKE SURE YOUR OTHER TIRES HAVE THE SAME AIR PRESSURE

  7. you will be fine until you can get the other ones just remember to get your car aligned or it could wear out your new tires prematurily.

  8. Not really, As long as 2 are new, you should be good for a bit. However, you should think about which onces to replace. I know for a fact that either the rear or front tires are more important. Make sure you ask the mechanic or tire expert about which ones you should replace sooner.

  9. Not really bad. Just replace the worst 2 first then replace the other 2 as soon as possible. Always put the best tires on the drive wheels(front wheel drive or rear wheel drive) never on the same side.  Both front or  both back. Call around good tires can be gotten at some auto recycle places.  I got a set of almost brand new tires for less then half price a year ago they did'nt show any wear. They came off a car that was in an accident.

  10. Not bad at all, sometimes you have to do what you can afford to do, and let the others wait a bit.  Just make sure you keep the matched tires on the same axle, and usually you want the steer tires replaced first.  For most vehicles that will also be your drive tires since the majority of cars are front wheel drive now.
