Is it bad if i pulled out of a space real fast in an automatic and it jerked back?

It also made the tires screech a little,i was in a huge hurry(friend in the hospital)

  1. if terribly abused, yes the car can be damaged and you dont need to rush. it can cause accidents, and then you would have to go to the hospital too. and i am sure you wouldnt want to do that. next time try to be more careful.


  2. Normally better if engine is at 2000rpm then put in drive.

    This will fix anything.

  3. If heavily abused, the automatic transmission can be easily destroyed within just half an hour.

    For example, a customer of mine had burnt the automatic transmission up in 20 minutes when he was trying to free his shiny Honda from the mud throwing it back and forth from forward to reverse and the next day after he bought it, it cost him about $2000 to rebuild it.

    Anything other than mechanical sympathy can be detrimental.

    You could also have caused an accident yourself by being in 'huge hurry'. Driving at a speed inappropriate to the road and traffic conditions, or risk-taking for a noble cause, such as your friend in hospital may have turned an emergency into a tragedy, and nothing achieved from it.

    Do hope your friend is ok though.
