No, it's very common here, especially at night. Sometimes in our viewing area, which covers Northwest Arkansas, the Arkansas River Valley, and Eastern Oklahoma, when there are many storms, the weather guy shows a lightning counter, which shows how many lightning strikes there has been over a particular range of area over 15 minutes. I have seen the counter record like 5 or 6 thousand strikes across our area over a 15 minute times span, so it is certainly not unusual.
