Is it bad if.......?

Question

Is it bad if you light a match, blow it out, rinse it with water for like 5 seconds, and than flush it down the toilet?.......I know that this is a weird question but i just did that and i dont know if that could cause a fire or anything. pleas e tell me if is bad that i just lit a match, blew it out, rinsed it with water for like 5 seconds, and than flushed it down the toilet?

no its pefectly fine as long as you poured water on the match first, then it would be impossible for it to re-ignite

You don't need to flush the match...it will end up in the sewer system where it does NOT belong.

You can either blow it out and set it in a fire-proof dish (ash tray for example) for a time or do as you did and submerge it in water to extinguish it.  Once it is cool to the touch it will NOT reignite spontaneously.

No problem.... unless you have septic tank.  The wood will not deteriorate in the tank....unless they are paper matches.... then you have no problems.

I can't believe there were nine answers to this. If it was in the water in the toilet it would be impossible for it to catch fire.

Generally you should not put anything down the toilet except the basics.  Not good for the sewer lines; even hair can encourage clogs.

However, certainly no fire danger!

yup. this can cause fire all day everyday. everyone knows that when water is applied to fire, that the fire will get worse.
