We have been looking for engagment rings for about a month... we have been together for almost five years now. And I found a dress that I fell in love with. Well it is on clearance right now and I am afraid it will be gone once he does pop the question... what do I do?

  1. bad luck =( dont buy it yett

  2. in my opinion its bad luck

  3. arent you an eager beaver, but as long as he dosent see you buy it go for it its not bad luck unless he sees it

  4. i would. superstition is just plain silly.

it's a matter of being smart with your money.

and if your man doesnt mind, then go for it.

  5. yeah dont do it! just wait

  6. put in on hold and pay in payments instead and if it gets sold well look for another chances are you will find a better one you like more

  7. Yes, if you are superstitious. I did EVERYTHING right according to superstition and wivestales, and yet my marriage still didn't work out. All of that stuff is very trivial in the long run.

But I wouldn't count my eggs before they hatch....

  8. can you put it on hold at the store? it sounds a little iffy but i understand the situation. maybe buy it and make sure it's returnable? i'm sure it will be fine, as long as you're not overly superstitious.

  9. No matter how long you've been together, if you're looking at rings and he still hasn't popped the question, then what's up with that? Is he suggesting you look at rings or are you? If it's always your suggestion, then you might be a victim of your own wishful thinking. I would wait on the dress.

Rings and dresses are fun to look at but marriage is a serious matter. It doesn't sound like he is as eager to take the plunge as you are. Just saying....

  10. It is bad luck if you buy it.  It is not bad luck if you put it on hold =)

  11. Lol, Do it!!

  12. If you know for sure that he is going to marry you, and if something happens you can always sell it on ebay for about the same price because it has never been used.

  13. A dress has nothing to do whatsoever with your future husband's feelings, or the outcome of the relationship.

Go ahead, it sounds exciting. Have fun, if you are looking for rings together, then he definitely pop the question soon.

Good luck. And an early CONGRATS!

  14. See if you can put it on layaway and make payments. If you can't you could always buy it and if it all falls through just sell it. I don't think it'd be bad luck since you guys are looking for rings. I'd tell him about it too.
