Is it bad luck to give a first aid kit as a birthday present?

Is it bad luck to give a First Aid kit to someone as a birthday present? Someone told me it was bad luck or something... but the person seemed like he wanted one and needed one for what he does...

It's not bad luck, but it's a little strange.  If the recipient likes it though, that's what matters.

If they get hurt a lot going mountain biking, perhaps you should get them some training wheels.   But seriously, you could just purchase a gift card from a store that carries what they've hinted at.

normally, it would be a little weird. But if this person has expressed (or hinted at) a desire for it, I think it's fine. Maybe tease him in the card or something so he knows that it's all in good fun
