  1. I'm not sure on the manners bit, but I'm sure if you do it too hard and too often, it'll hurt your teeth.

Besides that, it probably drives your mom crazy. My kids did it when they were younger, and I hated it!

  2. i think it is both bad manners and bad for your teeth.

  3. If you do it hard enough that it makes a sound or you are doing it without food to pass the time, yes.

  4. If you do it to the point where it makes noise, then it's bad manners.

That being said, I do it all the time, especially if I'm out at a restaurant.  I don't know - I try to make as little contact as possible between the utensils and my mouth.  I don't like to wrap my lips around a fork that has been in thousands of other mouths and who knows how clean it is.  I lightly use my teeth to take the food off of the fork.  I don't think anyone notices, I do it subtly.  If it's something creamy, like chocolate cake with tons of frosting, it's harder to do this without using your lips to pull stuff off of the fork.  You kind of have to use your lips in that situation.

LOL.  I guess I never really thought about it in this detail, it's just a habit I've developed, I guess, but yeah, I do it.

  5. yes it's out of etiquette and bad manners.it doesn't look nice at all, neither it's a civilized gesture!

  6. ~ I have to agree with your mom,,,,,,biteing your eating utensil is not good manners,,,,the sound of the teeth clicking the fork or spoon is annoying,,,,,

  7. I personally think its quite soothing...hehe

i like cold metal tasting thingies!!!I dont know if its bad manners though...

and about that guy who stuck his hand down that other guys pants...Strange.

  8. It is bad manners to actually bite the fork or spoon.  You use your lips to get the food off.  Scraping the spoon or fork across your teeth is very annoying, which is why it is bad manners.  Any etiquette book will tell you the same.
