  1. No. Generally the employees at a grocery store or department store or even the mall are not being paid by comission. So even if you decide to take your business elsewhere, the employee is still getting paid. They could care less where you shop. And let's face it, even if you take your business away from places like Walmart, thousands more will shop in your place.

  2. If you are price comparing, then no, it isn't.  If you're talking to a friend, the salesperson, your spouse and are discussing the price, etc. and it being cheaper elsewhere, then it shouldn't be a problem -- you have a right to get the best deal at the store that offers what suits you best

If you are going to other customers telling them they're better off getting the item(s) elsewhere cheaper, then you probably shouldn't.

  3. IF I KNOW THERE IS A BETTER DEAL AT ANOTHER STORE.. AND THERE ARE PEOPLE LOOKING AT THE PARTICULAR ITEM I KNOW ABOUT.. ILL SAY IT.. I DONT CARE... THESE DAYS WE ARE LOOKING FOR THE BETTER DEAL. THE STORE HAS THE OPTION TO MEET THE COMPETITORS PRICE, OR LOSE THE CUSTOMER

I DONT THINK ITS RUDE AT ALL, EITHER WAY YOU LOOK AT IT...

  4. I don't think so.

  5. if you are price comparingthen deffently not.

  6. If you are telling other customers it is bad. If you are talking with your shopping companions you have every right to be like "I love this tv but it is $150 cheaper at Walmart"

  7. To me, no and I'll tell you why.  You're not cheating on your husband or boyfriend, you're not talking about your friends behind their back, you are watching your hard earned money leave your pocket.  If I am a SUCCESSFUL store owner, I am listening to what my customers are saying and to hear someone say, "I'll be purchasing this item at xy store" you better believe your butt that I would absoultely not be offended but I would be checking out why the customer is going somewhere else.  Is their price better?  Is their product better?  If the answer to either of these questions is yes, then I need to consider my next course of action, do I lower my price?  Do I get the better quality product?   So speak up and or listen up.  If someone says something negative, just face it, sometimes the truth is brutal and it hurts because it is true but how you use the information CAN be a very positive thing!

  8. Depends. If you're in a small specialty store or the owner is there, they are going to be more personally offended. But in large department stores they might price match.

  9. Yup. Almost got thrown out for doing just that.

  10. Manners have to do with your use of custom.  It could be argued that to be well-mannered, you strive to think of others before you act.  Perhaps, it would depend on the size of the store.  I don't think Wal-mart would be 'offended'.  However, in a mom and pop store with the actual owner standing by, it would probably be best to save the what you're buying where conversation for another time or at least til you get out the door.
