i shoot at a hoop thats like 3 inches under regulation height?? becuz idk y but theres a hoop at a local park thats a little bit shorter than its supposed to be.

  1. Absolutely, think about the shooting practice that is being wasted.

    free throws especially will hurt you not help.

    in an exaggeration, think about those small hoops that go on a door with the small foam ball... you can't improve playing that way either.

    i played in school and have coached for 3 years, shooting on a rim that is low will actually change your shot, even on 3 or 4 inches.


  2. It is. Muscle memory is what you are doing to yourself.  

  3. Not really. If the height of the hoop is a bit shorter, than practicing your range instead. Shoot a little farther to improve your shooting. Also try high-arching shots to compensate for the 3 inches short of your local hoop.  

  4. yeah dats gonna mess up your shot. dat happened 2 me 1 time when i was playing at my uncles and i thought his goal was a 10 foot but it was actually a 9 1/2 and it took my a while 2 get used 2 da 10 foot

  5. Muscle memory to the lower hoop will make you not as good on regulation hoop
