Is it bad taking alegbra when your a 9th grader?

what are the consequences of having to take algebra in 9th grade?

It's not bad at all, you're supposed to take algebra then!  I took algebra I in 8th and algebra II in 9th.  Algebra I starts out pretty easy.  You need to know that to take harder math classes.  I'd say don't worry about it.  Do your best, do your homework, and ask the teacher questions!

im barely going to be a 9th grader so IDK much.

but, my teacher said that most students will take algebra in 9th grade because you need to understand algebra in order to do the others.

if your not so good in algebra,

then you should take algebra in 9th grade,

because you might fail geometry if you dont know much of algebra.

i dont believe that there are consequences.

because if there were,

then students will HAVE to understand algebra in 8th grade....

You'll have to take Geometry in 10th?

Honestly, that's about the only consequence.  My son is taking it in 6th and is finding that there's nothing bad about it.  You take it when you're ready to take it.

no that's not bad at all. Actually at my high school, that's the normal class that all freshman go into. The highest freshman class is geometry..but that's for really advanced students.

The only consequence I can think of is that you'll have to take more math in college, but that can't be too bad.

Yes because when you are in twelfth grade you are not required to take any more math classes.  That how they get senioritis.  I would suggest taking algebra in tenth grade.  In eleventh and twelfth grade, you will take another required class.  And it all works out when you have to take the placement test for community colleges.  

This is only for people interested in going to community colleges, not four year colleges.

Algebra I? My friend, who is not the best math student, is taking algebra I in ninth grade, even though we both did algebra I in 8th grade. It's perfectly fine. If you're talking Algebra II, then that's even better. Although my school makes up take Geometry first (what I'm taking), some make you take Algebra II then take Geometry. Whatever it is, you're on the right track. Even taking Algebra I is no shame.
