Question:

Is it bad that I'm trying to lose weight?

I'm an 18 year old girl.

5'7" & 125lbs.

Some people told me that I shouldn't be trying to lose any weight, but I don't think it's a big deal.

  3. well if you don't feel good about yourself then you should be trying to make yourself feel better about yourself then ya... but I don't think you should be loosing weight! just try to tone yourself up and eat healthier. :)

    You should more be trying more to build and tone muscles.

    I don't think you need to loose any weight because your weight is healthy.

  5. no it isn't bad i mean your obviously not fat but if you want to do it to be healthy its fine but you shouldn't cause your perfect weight cause your tall

  6. I think it depends on why you're trying to lose weight. If you're doing it to be healthier, then by all means, go nuts. Just use common sense. However, with you're height and weight, more than 10 lbs will probably be too much. Don't get caught up too much in self image, if you can help it. I am 4'10" tall and going on 31 years of age. I've fought with my body image for as long as I can remember. I finally came to terms with the fact that I am not going to hit a growth spurt at 30 years old. Stacey London from TLC's "What Not to Wear" hit the nail on the head with this statement. "Dress the body you have, not the one you wish you had." That's the best way to put it. Keep in mind that although you are old enough to vote and buy cigarettes, you are still at an impressionable age. Surround yourself with good friends who accept you as you are.

    I just realized how preachy I sound. Hope I didn't offend you. I just hate to see and hear when girls go through this. It makes everything so much more tense than it should be. Have fun!

  7. It's not bad, but you seem thin already based on the info you provided. How about toning up instead of losing weight? You might get too skinny if you try to lose weight.

  8. depends how your trying to lose weight.

    if your exerciseing, thats finee. it'll keep you in shape.

    but if your bulimic or anorexic, its really not healthy.

    skeletons aren't attractive.
