  1. Is he lifting weights?  If he is he needs to get with a good trainer and learn to do them properly and in conjunction with cardio which if really more important for him that fat muscles at this age.

  2. i think 3 hours a day is too much. the first hour is when you will get the most effect. Cut it down to about 1-2 hours and remember you need to rest aswell so dont work out every single day. If you think you can handle 5 days a week, you should be good.

  3. Here's my take of the situation - you're just 14.

Unless you are training for a specific sporting goal, keep it fun. Being active is good for you, but there are others of achieving it.

Like, riding a bike with your friends, walking to school, or playing a team sport. Doing some push-up or squats can help with strength training & can be done anywhere.

  4. I'm 14 too.  Personally, I think that's way to much time to spend at the gym.  I never go to the gym, I don't have the discipline :-) but anyway it's not essential for any sports I do and I'm way too busy.  I think I heard somewhere that while you're growing through adolescence, it's really bad for your muscles to do so many workouts.  A moderate amount is good, but 15 hours a week is a bit freakish and makes you sound if you have way too much of a body mentality.  I would say that you can keep going (assuming that the boy you are talking about is yourself), just lessen the amount you go, and spend more time with your family or friends or whatever.  Make going to the gym a secondary activity.  It's way more fun to do that than go to the gym anyway.

    Good luck

    Frederick :-)

  5. doing things like weightlifts can actually stunt your growth. drink a lot of milk. good exercises are jogging and sit-ups. your still young, you dont need to be big.

  6. dude u guys are like identical except he is like blacker ^_^

mm i dunno, im a 14 year old chick and i do boxing trainging 3 days a week because its a great work out and it really keeps me fit (i have absolutley no intention on becoming a boxer ~_^ haha)

mm i dunno im from aus and im guessing ur from america so they would probs be different over here.

    cheers

  7. Nothing wrong with it, i'm 15 and female and have a gym at my house, and i use it for hours everyday. x

  8. no i think its hot ;)

  9. That is a very broad question, but ok.  It depends what exercises you are doing and the intensity of whatever you are doing.  Abs, you can work everyday without straining them.  I don't think you need to be at the gym for three hours. However, as long as you ask advise to the gym owners, and do what they tell you i don't see any harm of going to the gym 5 days for whatever length of time you stay in there.

A good protein shake is the Whey Protein brand.  You can find them in any GNC store where you can buy a protein shaker which makes the shakes taste creamy, they come in various flavors.  My fave is chocolate

  10. it's not bad for you. hopefully it's fun. dont overdo it. might want to mix it up with sports. also what someone else said about not training the same areas every time. go in and do an ab workout next day work your upper body etc. that's good though; may want to do cardiovascular exercise like running or swimming.

  11. its not bad for your health but it has been known to stunt your growth , you may be still growing and lifting weights may have an adverse effect on that

  12. well im 14 also and i go 4 days a week for 3hours but i cant fit anymore time cause i also got a job and school xD and so im still doing good.and try searching on youtube for a good protein shake.
