Is it bad to brush your teeth with mouthwash?

I've run out of toothpaste. It's the middle of the week and I'm busy and out of cash. Will it ruin my teeth? Don't talk to me about fluoride. The stuff literally makes me sick. I usually use an aloe-based paste, but it can get expensive. Will I be okay this week?

  1. Yes it is

even on the back side of mouthwash it is written that not to use for more than 2 weaks and consult the dentist

    It will brown u'r teeths.

  2. If only one week, it will be ok. Don't worry. But try to buy the new toothpaste soon. Mouthwash is not protecting your teeth though.

  3. if you are not into flouride, try a toddler training toothpaste like  Orajel® Toddler Training Toothpaste.

toothpastes are dentrifices which are mild abrasives to remove the plaque and tartar from your teeth.

    Mouthwash is just an antiseptic.

If you just don't like the flavor of minty toothpastes, try ADA (American Dental Association) approved:

Tom's of Maine Natural Fluoride Toothpaste for Children (Silly Strawberry, Outrageous Orange Mango)

Plak Smacker Great White Shark Fluoride Gel Toothpaste (CoolBerry)

or if you must, use baking soda (but i could never get past the taste) and be careful, can be too abrasive.

  4. There's no real danger, just don't swallow it.  The only real downside is that your teeth won't be getting as clean and your mouth and gums may sting for quite a while.

  5. It usually says right on the bottle that mouth wash is NOT a substitute for toothpaste, but I guess you have to do what you have to do.

Do you have any one that you can borrow a few bucks from?

  6. Just brush your teeth with water and use mouth wash after wards, better than nothing.  I'd get some new toothpaste asap tho..

  7. If you have some baking soda in the house, use it to brush your teeth, then rinse with the mouthwash. If you have nothing but mouthwash, that's better than not brushing at all. I've also heard of people using table salt for brushing their teeth. I've never tried it, but I can't see that it would hurt to use it a few times.
