Is it bad to disable my WEP wireless security?

Question

Because I'm trying to connect up to Xbox Live via wireless.

I connected once for about 30 seconds! I was happy, and then after, It just went back to it's original "Can't conncet to Wireless Network".

But I'm confused, I didn't change anything, it just worked once, and then failed again after.

The signal wasn't' changed or anything.

Any help is much appreciated.

Yes very bad, because if you disable wep anyone in range of your wireless router can access it without a password and actually access files on your computer and change your router settings.

Not a good idea to disable it.  Opens the network and anything attached to it for viewing from outside.  Try changing the channel of the wireless router.  Could easily be interference for a cordless phone or other routers in your area.
