Is it bad to eat boiled vegetables?

I LOVE boiled veggies. I know a lot of people hate this, but I love it when veggies are mushy.. is this bad? i know steaming or raw is best.. but it doesnt taste as good

  1. No... If anything it loses some of the nutritions in them.


  2. You'd be much better off steaming them. Buy a little steamer basket to put in the pot. You won't lose so many nutrients that way. Boiling veges makes them lose the most nutrients. A small investment in a steamer basket will give you much better nutrition for years to come.

  3. if u insist on boiling them, when u boil your spuds (potatoes) mash them with the water u boiled them in with some salt and coconut cream so that u get the nutrients in the water. you can also save the water u used to make stock with for other recipies

  4. well the natural vitamins and minerals are diminished when you cook them thats why its best to eat tham raw and why some people have raw diets because they think you are taking the nutrition out when you expose heat to foods

  5. Boiled veggies would be better than no veggies at all...........but you will lose most (if not all) of the nutrients, minerals, vitamins and enzymes during the boiling process.

    Maybe you could try lightly steaming, which will help to retain some of the nutrients, then mash the steamed veggies with a fork or with a blender, so they still resemble a mushy look.

    I also like the above idea about mashing your spuds with the water you boiled them in and saving the water you used to make stock / soup.

  7. U r lucky u r one of the few people who eats boiled veggies! Boiled veggies r way better than anything.  keep it up don't fall for people that don't eat those because they don't know wat they consuming. BOILED VEGGIES R THE BEST! Good for ur health and u don't gain a ounce of calories!

  8. Raw is better. Boiling can make them lose some of their "good" stuff.

    But it's better than not eating any vegetables.
