Is it bad to eat raw brocoli when pregnant?

I'm 11 weeks and I rinsed it under water. But now I'm thinking I should have been more thorough. Is it dangerous at all because of what might be on it?

  1. Relax!!  Rinsing the broccoli is fine and you are going to be okay too.  Just rinse longer next time if you are concerned, but don't start freaking out about everything you eat or you'll scare yourself silly.  Broccoli is healthy, has lots of fiber and its a good choice for a pregnancy snack.  If you are still concerned, next time steam it and melt some low fat cheese on it (yum!).  Good luck to you!

  2. as long as you wash it your fine

  3. as long as it has been properly washed you are ok.

    Wash it with water.

  4. no vegetables are not dangerous if you wash them thoroughly in water first.

  5. Nope you did the right thing by rinsing in water, next time just let it rinse until you feel necessary.

  6. Good for me, bad for hubby. Raw broccoli gives me the worst gas now that I'm pregnant.

No, you'll be fine if you rinsed it off. Raw vegetables are excellent, a much better choice than cooked, frozen, or canned.
