  1. i wouldnt.....

  2. dont you end up drinking something anyway? no seriously.. it couldn't possibly hurt, considering you're soaking it in water, and then drinking all the chemicals that come out of it.

So i am very sure that you're safe doing it... the question now, is why do that - when you could enjoy a nice hot(or cold) cup of tea?

  3. i'm certain there is nothing harmful in consuming the contents of a teabag. if you're down to drink the water it's mingled with, then you should be okay to eat the leaves/herbs/etc.

a friend of mine uses loose leaves when making his tea, and doesn't bother with a strainer or infuser. he just lets the leaves pool at the bottom of the cup. he doesn't mind if a few (or a lot) of leaves are swallowed while he drinks. he seems fine so far, and he's been drinking tea like this since childhood.

to conclude: if you can stand the strong taste, go for it.
