I heard that if you give cats milk then they can get worms. But I always hear about giving it to cats.

  1. I would feed them milk, BUT ONLY IN VERY SMALL AMOUNTS, as cow's milk is much richer, and does not have the nutrients that their tiny bodies need.  They can get malnutrition if this is the only thing they are fed.

Funny (sad) story.  In the vets office, a guy brought in 4 kittens, tummies bloated and skinny little legs.  He said (and I quote) "they drink milk like crazy, I can't understand why they aren't growing".  I could hear the vets anger through the closed door once they got inside the exam room.  Very sad.

If you want to give them milk, they sell special milk for kittens at the pet stores, etc.

And no, it does not give them worms.  They normally get worms from fleas that hatch once they're ingested.  But that's another problem altogether.

  2. Please inform me when ya find out. PLEASE. and good luck!

  3. no milk is 1 of the healthiest drink for a cat.

  4. well when i gave my cat milk he got sick from it like when he pooed it would come out with a little blood so just test it on your cat and if he gets sick from it don't give it to him anymore and if he does not get sick then you can give it to him but they wont get worms because cats only get worms if they do not have there shot and they are outside cats

  5. cow milk may make a cat ill if he has it too often. I sometimes give my cat a bit as a treat. Goat milk should be fine for cats though and you can get milk especially for cats

  6. cats are lactose intollerant - you can give it to them but be prepared for diarrhea.  Give the kitty soy milk - they like and you don't get the side effects.

  7. I've never heard that it gives them worms. I have heard that cows milk is not good for them. I would occasionally treat my cats to about a TBS of canned milk. It didn't seem to hurt them.

  8. Most cats are lactose intolerant (mine are). They've eaten small amounts of cheese and drank a little milk before and both had horrible diarrhea that smelled as bad as it looked. Some cats can handle a little milk every so often, so if you're cat's tummy can handle it, it's fine as a treat every one and awhile. You can buy milk substitute specially formulate for cats as an occasional treat, too.

  9. mine are 15,16 and 17 and they have had milk all their lives, they still here and no problems.or i hasten to have worms.

  10. I never heard the part about cats getting worms due to the milk. I have heard that it will give them diarrhea. I gave a little to my cat, and he took a few licks then walked away and went to the water bowl instead....

  11. its not bad just ask a vet which kind

  12. yes if they are in their adult stage already, It's bad for them 'cause their lactose levels become high and they might have some health problems.
