  1. its always bad to get all hot and then jump into a pool

  2. yes it is it makes your vains pop out out

and it looks all ugly when you wearing skirts ect.

also you can get really sick and overheat your body

  3. it sure is because the temperature of the water is lower then the body temperature what lets your mussels cool down to quickly and this in return helps to lock milk acid into your mussels what gives you the sore mussels the next day....

  4. ..

While running, you're sending up your body core temperature considerably.

Jump in a pool, and you release this heat very quickly.  I suspect that's what led to your feelings of dizzyness.

Is it bad to do this?  Not in itself.  Swimming right after running can be an appropriate cool-down, and more importantly can help "massage" waste products out of your system.  Also, jumping into a cool pool also reduces some of the natural swelling that happens in your leg muscles as you run, due to micro-tears (tears happening at the muscle fiber level).

The only danger is if you go from running to swimming in very cold water.  In doing so, you do risk hypothermia - a very sudden and very drastic lowering of your body temperature.

  5. My swim team runs for about 40 minutes then comes back and swims in the pool for an hour. we do a 200 easy when we get back in the pool so we arent too tired. the rest of practice usually isnt too hard.

  6. as long your inshape it is not bad

u may want to eat some carbs or a banana to help prevent the cramping.

  7. i havent heard that but maybe its because you go from using some muscles in running to using practically all muscles in swimming....but im not sure

  8. no its not bad my cross country team does it all the time after practice to get a few laps in to relax the muscles

  9. It would be bad if you are gasping for air and the water is deep!

  10. In my pool one of the boy was died due to sm unknown reason. Doctors told the reason was over exhaust of guy. He came after running. It may be right also.

  11. It depends on if you're overtraining or not.

But generally speaking; Not at all, it's actually great for you- many triathletes train in that order for convinience (I do). Swimming doesn't necessarily work your leg muscles the same as running does, as swimming stregthens muscles you don't use when you run. Essentially, you'd get a better workout for overall conditioning which in turn makes better running.

But, like how I said earlier: don't swim after you've ran a marathon unless you are absolutely in perfect conditioned form (think ultra marathon runners).

    Good luck!

EDIT: Don't jump into the pool RIGHT after you've ran. You need a cool-off period: walk/easy jog an extra mile, and than stretch. By the time you finish, you should be pool ready. Cool/Ice water is actually good for your muscles. Look up ice baths for athletes on google.

  12. your legs might cramp up

  13. it's hard..

  14. um i dunno exactly how old you are, your weight and how often you do running or swimming or both! swimming is very good after running because it releaves the tension in the muscles in the body and water sports help them relax, but if you felt dizzy it may be because you have not allowed enough time for oxygen to be put back in to the body! use something like a sports drink (powerade and gatorade) or just have a rest and then go for a swim! well done by the way for doing this dont know many individuals that can actually do this except for probably a couple of my well experienced track friends and triathletes! good luck and keep up the awesome work!

if you still have any problems just drop me an email and i will see if i can help you with any other problems that you have!

  15. NO, its not bad for you...your dizzy probably because you needed something to eat/drink.  The cold water after excercise is good for your muscles, this helps inflamation/soreness.  That why some runners sit in ice baths after a marathon, to ease the muscles from inflamation and soreness.

  16. you are running your triathlon in reverse and you will likely be disqualified.

Triathlons are swim, run, bike, not bike run swim.

  17. because it isnt good for your muscles!

  18. no go biking too and have a triathalon by yourself. lonely but effective.
