Are charter schools bad for your college resume ?

I'm a sophomore and i get Straight 'A's'

But I just don't like the whole school thing , kids are so immature , and I heard that in charter school you only go for a couple days a week , is that true ?

Does is look bad when your trying to get into college ??

Will it hurt me from going to SDSU ?

Can you get a Scholarship going to a charter school ?

No, it is not bad to go to a charter school.  But think about the true reasons you want to go to a charter school.  There are great public schools, and some crummy ones.  Same with charters.  Some great charters, and some that fail and close down.  I know that all the charter schools in my area run on the same public school calendar of M-F with the same holidays off.  So if there is a specific charter school you are interested in attending, make an appointment to visit the school first, speak to a counselor, take a tour.  See if it is the right school for you.

A charter school on your high school transcript is no different than a public or private school.  Colleges are simply looking for the fact that you did graduate high school.

Scholarships are under the public school laws, so there is no tuition to go to a charter.  If you are seeking a scholarship to college, then you will need to work very hard and apply early on in your senior year for various scholarships.  Good luck to you!
