  1. There are different methods of security.

    WEP is useless.  There are programs you can download that can break WEP security in a few minutes.

    WPA2 is pretty secure.

    Add MAC address filtering and it's VERY secure.

    (Downloading from unknown sources, or using peer-to-peer programs lessens security a lot.)

  6. Well, you're providing internet access to anyone in range.  Depending on how many people use it and what they do, you may find that you don't have the bandwidth to do what you want.

    And if your isp has limits on bandwidth usage and someone uses a lot, your isp may close your account.
