I just got contacts and wasn't sure if it was bad if you take a nap during mid-after noon for a couple of hours?

  1. No, it's not a big deal.  You might want something for after like Visine for Contacts since your eyes may dry out or get irritated.

  2. It depends on which kind of contacts you wear.  If you take a nap wearing soft contacts then the answer is no, it's not bad to take a short nap while wearing them.  Matter of fact some soft contact lenses are meant to be worn for a couple of weeks before being changed out.  However, if you've got hard or gas-permeable contacts, then napping in them will dry out your eyes.  Dry eyes can be bad because tears act as protection against irritants which can damage the eyes.  Hope that helps!

  3. If you have extended wear contacts it shouldn't hurt to take a nap in them.  You might want to use some drops before and/or after. I wouldn't advise sleeping all night in them even if you're told otherwise. Your eyes need to rest at night. I've known people that got infections from wearing them too long & personally, I don't think it's worth risking my eyesight.

PS. Here's one more tip. Soft contacts will collect deposits from crying enough to make it hard to see through them. If you know you might be in that type of situation (such as a funeral) be sure to have supplies on hand to clean them or even have some glasses on hand for backup.

  4. no i have contacts and i nap in them, your eyes will just get dry when you wake up so you will need to put drops in, but its not that big of a deal. really you should take them out before you nap bc then when you wake up they wont be really dry and irritating. hope i helped!!

  5. if you don't have day and night contacts you should, but if you don't take a nap then soak the contacts in solution for 24 hours and that gets the moisture back in them. but if it was only a few hours it may be less.

i know this for a fact cause i slept in my contacts for 14 hours so i called and asked my eye doctor, that happened 2 years ago, now i have the day & night contacts, they work great and i don't have to worry about my eyes getting dry.

  6. yes, ur eye are lacking of oxygen.

  7. No just make sure they stay moist. Put eye drops in before and after you go to sleep. I sleep in my contacts all night but since you just got yours I  would wait for yours eyes to adjust before you do.
