Is it bad to jump with a speed rope on asphault ground?

  1. I've been jump roping on hard surfaces for quite a long time (since Dec. '06), and I've yet to notice any problems.  As long as your form is correct, land on balls of your feet so that your calves absorb the impact, then you should be ok.

    If that isn't enough for you then purchase interlocking exercise mats to jump on.


  2. Not necessarily. However, you wouldn't want to bounce on the hard ground too much( long term) and ruin your knees. A padded matt would be ideal.
