  1. That a dogs mouth is "cleaner" than a humans is a terrible misnomer.  Dogs generally carry less TYPES of bacteria... but are 9,000 kinds of bacteria really safer than 10,000 kinds?  And of these thousands of types of bacteria... it only takes ONE to make you sick.  Also take into account worms... and yes pets can transfer them to humans... just takes swallowing a couple microscopic eggs.  In addition many colds can be transfered between pets and owners... look up the "highly contagious" kennel cough.....

If i showered and brushed my teeth, then licked my hand.... i imagine most people wouldnt shake it....

Pets l**k their entire bodies, drink toilet water, handle dead animals (listeria, salmonella, e-coli anyone?), l**k other animals, and generally are not maintained as well as they should be.  All pets require bathing (yes even cats).

Cat allergies do not come from the fur.... rather the bacteria in the fur from..... their saliva!

PS  I love animals, but if you as an owner, let your dog try to kiss me?  I would kick it in the face.
