  1. yes, it's bad 2 make ur horse rear, 4 reasons every1 else pointed out.  for safety reasons, don't do it again.  but it is good that ur spending time with ur horse and that you were able to teach her that.  now aim 4 a safer trick.  ur not stupid.  just uneducated.  thanks 4 asking and not just doing it anyways.

  2. It can be very dangerous. If you ever let someone on your horse that is inexperienced and they do your command that you use to make her rear and they don't know they could fall off and get hurt. Plus she can always loose her balance and fall over and get seriously hurt herself. A friend of mine thought it would be awesome to teach her horse to rear the only problem was that is how she tried to get every rider off, and when she didn't like something instead of bucking in protest she would rear up and leap forward. She had a rider on one day when she did it and they fell off and broke their arm and her parents sued her and she lost her horse because of it.

  3. it is dangerous

it was dangerous before you taught her!

  4. r****d. UR HORSE WEIGHS LIKE 1,000 POUNDS. IF SHE TOOK ONE LITTLE WRONG STEP U AND THE HORSE COULD DIE. THE ONLY TIME A HORSE SHOULD REAR WITH THE RIDER. IS WHEN THE HORSE PERFORMS IN THE AIRS. BUT THOSE RIDERS ARE TRAINED FOR THE TYPE OF STUFF. PLEASE FOR UR SAFTEY DONT DO THAT.

  5. You should NEVER train a horse to rear!!

Rearing is extremely dangerous, the horse could fall backward and crush you.

After dealing with two consecutive rearers, I would be happy to have a horse that didn't rear naturally. As soon as you train them to do it, then you will lose control of when they rear and soon you will have a problem rearer!

All it takes is one misstep and it could be death for you and your horse, I am not kidding. Even if you manage to get out of the way in time, how would you feel if your horse broke its back?

This might sound harsh but it's true. It's really not worth the risk.

  6. Unless your horse is a trick horse that you plan to own forever, that is amazingly quiet, and that no one else rides, teaching a horse to rear is a horrible idea.

    1) In order to 'train' her to rear, you would have to praise her. Then, she begins to associate rearing with being rewarded. One day, she might rear up on you because she wants a treat.

    2) Even if your horse is a great horse, if you ever plan to sell her, she would be very difficult to sell, especially because people do not want a dangerous horse. Especially since there is a lot of children buying horses these days, and no parents would want a dangerous horse for their kids.

    3) If someone else rode or handled your horse, and she reared up on them and injured them, then they could sue you.

    4) There is a danger to your horse, because if she reared up too high, she could flip over and injure itself. Horses were not meant to rear up like that, and most horses only do it as a last resort to throw off their rider.

In short, yes, it is bad to let her do it a lot.

  7. Why not teach your horse to buck you off? Most people spend a great deal of effort training a horse who rears to stop it. This is really unsafe, for the horse and for people around you. You might be putting someones safety at risk besides your own. I hope this question is a joke.

  8. yes it will make her dangerous so just be careful its only on demand!

  9. Honey thats not bad, thats HORRIBLE. I really don't understand why kids think its fun to teach their horse such a dangerous trick. Stop doing it.

  10. Honestly...probably one of the most dangerous "tricks" you can teach a horse....may take a pro to "untrain" her from doing this.  And not all the "untraining" works...if you want her to know a trick, teach her one that keeps all four of her feet on the ground where they belong.

  11. why would you train your horse to rear?

    rearing is very dangerous

my mom had a appy horse who would rear all the time and he ended up falling over backwards on her and separating her shoulder

rearing spoils the horse and eventually will make it stupid to ride, cause it will think it has to rear everytime you get on it

do not train your horse to rear, esp. not to show off with it

  12. Its bad to train her to do it. It makes them dangerous to be around.

No, rearing isnt terribly hard on her legs but if she flips, it could kill her.
