Question:

Is it bad to make cookies for the Baby Shower favors?

My sister and a few of her guests are vegan. I have already accepted the job which isn't very difficult since I'm already vegetarian. However, when it comes to the favors, buying anything store bought is almost out of the question, while to buy online is expensive according to my budget. I don't want to look cheap, but would it be to make my own vegan cookies? I was thinking thumbprint "butter" cookies looking the best! Also, the favors are a little more than the sweets, they will contain seeds to grow flowers and all of it is being placed in flower pots for a "Sweet Pea" Theme. So would this look bad?

  1. no, not at all. Good idea

  2. I think that sounds lovely!

  3. no actually it sounds like a very good and clever theme

  4. No, not at all i think those are great ideas.

  5. Not at all! I did the same thing for my own baby shower! I baked the cookies with special "baby" cookie cutters, (I got several, but ended up using the duck, the bottle, and rattle ones) and wrapping them in cellophane, tying with ribbon. They were a HUGE hit! You are totally right to do them yourself because you never know what they will taste like if you get them from the store, nor can you be absolutely sure what ingredients they were made with.

  6. I had my baby shower May 3rd, and My Sister and I made homemade sugar cookies with cookie cutters in the shape of baby feet and hands, and a heart.  I put about 4 cookies in each bag, and I had 30 people at my shower.  They were all calling telling me how great they were and what a good idea it was.  So I say go for it.  It worked well for me, and everyone loved it.
